- The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat released the names of those selected for interviews at the Tanzanian Parliament today, September 25, 2022.

OUR NATURE
- A government entity having the status of an independent Department, the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) was created expressly to make the hiring of new individuals for the public service easier. The Public Service Act No. 8 of 2002, as amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, section 29, established the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (1).
- Being a center of excellence for public service hiring in the area is our vision.
- Mission: To carry out public servant recruiting utilizing contemporary methods while upholding the values of fairness, transparency, and merit, as well as to offer advise to employers on issues pertaining to employment.
Secretariat for Public Service Recruitment's Purposes
- The primary function of PSRS is to facilitate public service recruiting. Section 29 (1) of Public Service Cap. 298 of 2002, as modified by Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007, lists the duties of PSRS as follows:-
- Find a variety of professionals with specialized expertise and create a database for them for simpler recruitment;
- Register recent graduates and professionals to make it easier to fill open positions;
- public service positions that are vacant should be advertised;
- Engage the right professionals to conduct the interviews.
- provide guidance to companies on a variety of hiring-related issues, and
- Follow any additional instructions given by the minister in charge of the public service.
Primary Values
- The cornerstones of work performance and conduct in response to changes in society, government, politics, and technology are the basic values of PSRS. The core values of PSRS were as follows:
- seeking superiority in service delivery.
- devotion to the government.
- Diligence.
- Integrity.
- To all, courtesy.
- adherence to the law, and
- proper use of government data.
