Job Title: Programme Policy Officer SC8 (KJP)

Job vacancies at WFP

Job Purpose:

• To support policy and programme activities to effectively meet food assistance needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to project development, management and implementation.
• Provide project management support to programmes and projects of small to moderate size.
• Ensure quality data gathering and monitoring.
• Research and analyze policy and operational issues to support policy development.
• Coordinate with partners and stakeholders, provide regular feedback.
• Prepare accurate and timely reporting.
• Serve as a daily focal point for participating smallholder farmers, government counterparts and international stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration.
• Support capacity building of WFP staff and partners.

Qualifications:

• Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or relevant field.
• Fluency in English and Swahili languages (written and oral).

Functional Capabilities:

• Knowledge of the programme lifecycle and food assistance.
• Ability to analyze transfer modalities (Food, Cash, Voucher).
• Basic knowledge of specialized areas (e.g. Nutrition, VAM).
• Ability to provide inputs into emergency programming.
• Skills in strategic policy engagement with government.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of SMEs, pro-smallholder procurement and commercial agriculture models.
• Ability to provide consistent and professional services.
• Experience in project management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
