Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is seeking a competent and experienced Economist/Health Economist for a 3-year contract (renewable on mutual agreement).

The Economist/Health Economist will be stationed in the Strategy and Business Development Section and will be responsible for tasks such as planning, budgeting, and investment, conducting research, evaluating priorities for investment, and presenting reports on economic activities. 

The ideal candidate should have

•  a Bachelor's Degree in Economics/Health Economics with a minimum of 3 years of work experience and a Master's degree in Economics/Health Economics will be an advantage. 
• Holder of a master’s degree in Economics/Health Economics will be an added advantage 1:3 Experience and Skills

He/she should come with at least three years of working experience in economic activities.

1. Working experience in Health economics will be an added advantage
2. Good understanding of the subject of economics and international relations
3. Good understanding of Planning and Budgeting
4. Right balance of mathematical and analytical aptitude to comprehend the economic aspects thoroughly
5. Abreast with the national economic policies and its impact on the organization sector
6. Fluent verbal and written communication skills
7. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
8. Strong orientation to team work
9. Ability to handle pressure, complex situations and problem-solving capacity
10. Ability to think analytically and strategically

• The candidate should possess strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, and be able to handle pressure and complex situations.
