Job Tittle: Head; Agri Wholesale (1 Position)
Job Purpose:
Managing the department of Agri Wholesale at Head Office by being responsible for all existing Agri Wholesale loan products and other loan products to be developed in the department, as well as providing leadership and formulating strategies that will increase revenue to the Bank through development of new Agri Wholesale products that will excel in the market.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategic Focus
- Coordinate all Agri Wholesale activities in the bank, monitor and advise Management on the best option to improve Agri Wholesale in the bank.
- Plan and execute the best strategies in formulation of Agri Wholesale products that will attract customers in the market.
- Review and implement Agri Wholesale department strategy to ensure objectives are achieved on a quarterly basis and implement measures to enhance performance.
- Prepare departmental budget and projections for growth in line with banks targets.
- Coordinate budget objectives of the department to ensure targets are achieved as per approved banks budget.
Leadership & People Management Focus
- Define and put implementation plan of the policies by translating policy statements and concepts into actionable requirements and assigning roles and responsibilities amongst staff, engage staff in policies implementation by communicating expectations, providing coaching and support.
- Maintain a highly attractive and motivating working environment to the unit that will increase excellent Agribusiness services to Wholesale clients that in turn reflects on profitability and growth.
- Manage staff and daily operations to ensure all requirements of the Bank are met in a timely, efficient, effective and ethical manner.
- Agree targets and take accountability for the overall achievements of performance objectives in the business area in terms of employee satisfaction, customer experience, and cost performance, return on investments, risk, and compliance and governance requirements
- Agree and manage service offerings and SLAs with internal customers
- Provide clear direction to team members on the strategic plan and key focus areas and ensure their understanding and buy-in, Benchmark productivity of the department against industry standards and create measures to improve productivity.
Operations Focus
- Supervise the preparation of MIS reports for Agri Wholesale Department and advice on abnormalities observed and suggest solutions to rectify.
- Review credit appraisals from Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers to provide technical advice and way forward.
- Ensure full compliance, provide oversight as well as monitor the implementation of various consumer protection requirements across business area/Unit.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good knowledge of Agribusiness Value Chain
- Sound Credit knowledge; Risk Management skills
- Good knowledge of banks products and services and Agri Wholesale products
- Knowledge of government policies related to agricultural activities
- Business environment awareness
- Knowledge and awareness of BOT regulations, banks policies and procedures.
- Knowledge in Agribusiness particularly in Tanzania
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Teamwork/Collaboration with other business units (Retail and Wholesale) to ensure seamless value chain delivery of Agricultural solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor`s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness or any other Business related field,
- Master’s in Business Administration will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 10 years Working Experience
- Minimum 5 years of having worked in Agribusiness sector
- Minimum 4 years of credit appraisals
- Minimum of 5 years working in a Managerial position

Job Tittle: Senior Data Scientist (1 Position)
Job Purpose:
The individual will support relevant stakeholders through analytics, and the application of appropriate advanced analytics for the business’ key initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Mine, analyze large amounts of data, find hidden patterns and forecasting trends using data and provide reports with recommendations
- Implement advanced analytics use case scenarios for the bank
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
- Researching on Machine Learning Algorithms
- Testing Machine Learning systems
- Training and retraining ML systems
- Using Data Science techniques/tools to improve processes
- Aggregate data from disparate sources both structured and unstructured
- Translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement.
- Identify new opportunities to apply machine learning to business processes to improve their efficiency and effectiveness;
- Design and implement reporting dashboards that can track key business metrics and provide actionable insights;
- Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis
- Automation data collection and management process
- Work closely with business to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making
- Design and implement big data strategy for the bank
- Innovate by researching, learning, and adapting new modeling techniques and procedures to existing business problems.
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
Knowledge and Skills:
- BI & Data warehouse; ML Techniques; Big data platforms
- Strong mathematical & numeracy skills
- Understanding of reporting & data visualizations tools
- Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools
- Excellent analytical, creative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.

Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc in Computer Science, Data science, Mathematics or relevant field.
- Strong coding skills, such as R, Python or Scala
- Proven work experience as a Data Scientist
- Experience with big data platforms and tools including Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Spark and MapReduce
- Experience with programing languages including SQL, Python, Scala and Perl; and R.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience in data mining & machine learning algorithms and their implementations
- Experience with manipulating large data set
- Experience in financial services especially in Banking is a bonus

Job Purpose:
To lead a team of software developers in studying bank operations; designing, building, testing, and installing software solutions or modifying/upgrading existing applications; support and develop software teams to meet critical business goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participate in systems/project scoping, design, and pricing exercises as part of the development and business teams’ processes.
- Work with Senior Manager Applications Development to ensure resource utilization targets are met.
- Bring together components and software subsystems into a whole and ensure that those subsystems function together by;
– Studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas.
– Determine operational feasibility by evaluating impact analysis, problem definition, user requirements, proposed solutions and efforts required.
– Document and demonstrate solutions, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear pseudo codes.
– Develop and conduct testing plans and procedures based on system requirements.
– Identify systems deficiencies and implement effective solutions.

– Researching, evaluating, and recommending systems/equipment/technologies based upon user requirements and ICT system enterprise architecture in place.
