JVACEE Vacancies is a Joint venture company of Arab Contractors and El-sewedy Electric, dealing with the scope of Engineering, Procurement & Construction of Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project in Stigler’s Gorge in Tanzania, which is expected to produce 2,115 MW of installed capacity. Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station is a hydroelectric dam under construction across the Rufiji River in eastern Tanzania. Although controversial, the government approved the plans in 2018. The power station is expected to have an installed capacity of 2,115 megawatts and to produce 5,920GWh of power annually serving approximately 60 million Tanzanians. Located across the Rufiji river, in the Stigler’s George, in the Selous Game Reserve, makes it aside from generating electric power as prime purpose, a control gate for deadly floods that occasionally result in major loss in lives and goods with severe impact on the national economy. The project meets most of the UN 17 sustainability goals as it manages wisely precious resource, creates thousands of jobs, bridge an energy gap, stimulate the economy, and open wide gates for investors to penetrate Tanzania. LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR  (1 Position)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all Project custom clearance import & export documentation with TRA, TPA and shipping agencies.
  • Manage full Project Logistics’ operations cycle with all stakeholders like (TRA, Project Owner, Project management) on timely manner & cost optimization.
  • Provide support and guidance for all Freight forwarding & Custom Clearance and inland
  • transportation locally & overseas.
  • Review and approve (checking for accuracy & compliance) all high level procurement, framework agreements, high risk financial commitments.
  • Provide orientation to new senior operations staff, provide, as needed, refresher training to staff in all standard operations and admin procedures, Logistics processes, SOPs, forms, record keeping and to ensure future ongoing compliance. Provide training to program and other support staff on critical logistics policy & procedure.
  • Assess country office fleet management standards; ensure appropriate allocation and safe use is achieved throughout the servicing of programs and staff; rental service agreements and contracting is done in alignment with procurement standards and fuel and maintenance systems are in place.
  • Support warehouse teams to ensure systems and reporting are in place for the effective storage and distribution of all projects stocks.
  • Working in depth knowledge and experience of logistics systems and requirements in a multi field office, multi program setting.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Ideal Candidates Should Possess a working experience of 10+ years and above in the similar position.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in logistics or related qualifications from a reputable institution.
  • Be a team player and able to work autonomously.
  • Experience working in big national project will be an added advantage.
