Career Summary

  • Cash and related instruments can be given and received. Provide walk-in branch customers with customer service.

Job Purpose

  • Dispense and receive cash and related instruments. Provide customer service to walk-in branch customers.

Main accountabilities and approximate time split

Cash counter service: 40%

  • Cashing of cheques and withdrawals.
  • Supervising other tellers at the counter
  • Process both cash and cheque deposits/credits
  • Purchase and sale of foreign currencies
  • Answer general customer enquiries at cash counter
  • Balance cash in own till and assist other tellers for balancing in case of need
  • Groom vouchers for onward processing at the central processing unit or back-office
  • cross-selling of bank products and services
  • Offer clients referral services for bank products.
  • As a backup only, perform customer service advisor and inquiries tasks as needed to deliver top-notch customer care at the counter.
  • Own and handle client inquiries and concerns from time to time by taking charge and providing a swift resolution.

Strong room custody and cash management: 30%

  • Sorting and returning of cash.
  • Throughout the day, keep an eye on the amount of cash kept in the safe to make sure it stays within restrictions.
  • In accordance with the restrictions imposed by the national headquarters, order branch cash from the cash provider or central bank.
  • All cash problems should be reported right once to the Branch Operation Team Leader or Branch Operation
  • Manager following the protocols in place.
  • Make sure cash is packaged properly by front-line Customer Service Advisors.
  • Recommend to the Head Custodian the amount of cash to be ordered again based on demand.
  • Verify all teller and vault balances before closing the branch (Branch Cash Reconciliation)
  • Work essentially as a co-custodian
  • Control the communication between the Tellers and the vault.

ATM cash management: 20%

  • Refill the ATM's cash dispenser.
  • Sort money for the ATM to make sure it is clean money, such as straightening the notes. Return any unused funds to the person who provided it.
  • To minimize the impact on ATM uptime of mechanical issues and administrative issues, contact the external maintenance firm.
  • Daily reconcile your ATM cash. separate from each ATM
  • accountable for maintaining ATM availability and fixing minor issues before reporting them to the ATM maintenance firm.
  • Report malfunctions to the ATM management as soon as possible.
  • On every day off from work, check to see if the area's ATMs are still active and have enough cash stored.
