- East Africa's public health supply chains are being improved by inSupply Health, a Dar es Salaam-based independent, regional advising organization. Our vivacious team of regional consultants collaborate closely with clients from the public and private sectors to build supply chain systems that are efficient, individualized, and robust, drawing on the expertise of our association with John Snow Inc. (JSI). Systems that distribute necessary healthcare items, like antimalarial and HIV drugs, are deployed by inSupply.

- The Accountant will implement accounting controls, record and report assets, liabilities, and income, and manage the disbursement of client funds in support of inSupply contracted activities under the direction of the inSupply Finance and Operations Manager.
Job Opening for Accountant at John Snow
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable/Payable
- Being in charge of the day-to-day accounting, which includes making sure that the documentation of financial transactions complies with client and inSupply requirements, entering transactions into QuickBooks, resolving advances, and forecasting and tracking expenditures and accruals;
- Make sure to generate monthly accounts by the 10th after the previous month's conclusion.
- Make certain that all inSupply accounts are compared and that any discrepancies are explained;
- Update the expense tracking file, and collaborate with the Finance and Administration Manager to create monthly client invoices and submit them by the due date;
- Enter payments for invoices and other forms of revenue, making sure that they are properly recorded in accounting books;
- Make sure that the company's accounting systems all adhere to accounting rules and protect the company's resources.
- In accordance with finance and office rules, monitor the filing and updating of financial documents in Sharepoint and paper copies.
Audit
- Prepare and submit year-end audit reports in collaboration with the inSupply auditor;
- Gather evidence for client audits as necessary.
Money flow
- Ensure that inSupply always has enough cash on hand to cover operating expenses;
- In order to preserve cash flow, work with the finance and administration manager to track customer payments for invoices and to request advances from them.
- Perform spot checks on the petty cash and provide a reconciliation report (Cash held in the cash box & payment vouchers)
- Taxes and statutory compliance
- Pay the appropriate withholding taxes and VAT to Tanzania's revenue authority.
- Process worker deductions on a monthly basis in accordance with Tanzanian legal requirements and timeframes.
Budgeting
- Participate in the quarterly updating of the organizational budget with the management team.

essential qualifications and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university or institution in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline.
- ACCA certification or Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) certification.
- good written and verbal communication skills, and awareness of various communication methods
- 3 to 5 years of accounting and financial experience
- Capacity to handle sensitive matters with sensitivity and the ability to uphold strict confidentiality.
- Strong organizational abilities, a track record of precision, and meticulousness.
- extensive knowledge of Google Workspace, Excel, and accounting applications.
- Highly driven and organized critical thinker with remarkable problem-solving abilities.
- good interpersonal skills.
- exposure to and practical experience in a comparable position in Tanzania.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, multiethnic setting while demonstrating sensitivity to and respect for difference; strong interpersonal skills.
