COMMUNICATES WITH: Senior Advisor for Quality Service Provision

Position Summary:

• A self-driven person will be in charge of providing overall technical leadership and oversight for the execution of TB & TB/HIV programs and services at the regional, district, and facility site levels as the Advisor - TB & TB/HIV Service Delivery. This entails staying up to date on significant developments in the field of TB and TB/HIV, putting important programmatic, national, and international priorities in TB and TB/HIV into practice, as well as collaborating with and offering technical guidance and support to other regional staff in the supported region. She or he will collaborate closely with the facilities supported by the USAID Afya Yangu Southern Program at the regional and district levels.

Education, professional experience, and skills are required.

1. A doctorate in medicine (MD or equivalent), or an advanced diploma in medicine.

2. Public health or a related field with a master's degree is desirable.

3. A minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of TB and/or TB/HIV services, including three years of planning and implementing TB and TB/HIV programs at the regional level while collaborating with NGOs.

4. Practical understanding of the National TB and Leprosy Control Program, as well as donor TB and TB/HIV policies and strategies

5. Data analysis, interpretation, utilization, CQI, and operational research in the TB and TB/HIV program data, as well as experience with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), the national TB database.

6. The capacity to perform well and meet deadlines while working with little supervision.

7. Outstanding oral and written communication and presenting skills

8. Proficiency in spoken and written Swahili and English.

9. Extensive computing expertise (MS Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint).

10. The capacity to operate without much direction and with excellent problem-solving abilities.

11. The capacity to spend at least 80% of the time traveling to the implementation regions.
