BACKGROUND:

  • In 2015, Mzumbe University's School of Public Administration and Management (SOPAM) opened the Centre of Excellence in Health Monitoring and Evaluation (COEHME). The goal of COEHME is to coordinate and carry out health monitoring and evaluation activities, including the provision of technical assistance in the application of scientific research; the generation, dissemination, and use of health data systems; and the use of data to support the strengthening of health systems. The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention granted the COEHME a grant in September 2020 (CDC grant GH20-2063) to provide technical assistance to the Tanzanian government and public health institutions in the direction of sustained health system strengthening. This undertaking is The President's Office - Regional Administration and Local Government, the Tanzania Commission for AIDS, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Finance and Planning are all involved in and supporting the implementation of this program. The post described below needs to be filled right away, and the COEHME is looking for competent, experienced, dynamic, and qualified candidates.

IT SPECIALIST (1 POST), Job Title:

  • Duty Station: Morogoro's Mzumbe University's Center for Distance Education (CDE) and Center of Excellence in Health Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Reports to: ECHO Advisor for STL/M & E.

Job description

  • Project ECHO aspires to democratize medical knowledge and significantly increase underprivileged individuals' access to best practice care worldwide. The ECHO Model links healthcare professionals with case-based learning and videoconferencing technologies to give chances for ongoing education.
  • Through engaging, useful problem-solving sessions, you may connect with subject-matter experts and online communities of practice. This position will be in charge of Project ECHO-related data across the entire nation, including the creation of a consolidated data system for iECHO data as well as ongoing monitoring and iECHO data quality improvement. The Center for Distance Education (CDE) will receive IT assistance from the IT specialist.

responsibilities and obligations:

  • Give technical direction and help with ECHO equipment trapshooting.
  • Support the deployment of educational initiatives, including the uploading and upgrading of training materials and curriculum on e-learning platforms.
  • To facilitate the creation of eLearning content, collaborate with programmers and instructional designers.
  • Make learning both live and recorded.
  • a solid grasp of software technologies and an object-oriented methodology
  • Review current systems, the Human Resources Health Information System, and the National e-Learning Platform for Health. provide suggestions for system upgrades to ensure robust functionality and optimum performance.
  • Work with the software development team to examine new and existing code, run unit tests, and/or analyze issues' root causes.
  • When necessary, in charge of the design and development of cutting-edge software applications and mobile-based applications (for the Android and Windows platforms).
  • generating original answers to the project's needs.

Qualifications:

  • Computer science, information technology, or health information system as a major
  • Having a master's degree will be advantageous.
  • experience working as a developer or administrator for a learning management system.
  • altering audio and video experience
  • 3+ years of information technology experience
  • experience in programming, strong knowledge of Java, and familiarity with the Android SDK
  • working familiarity with web technologies like HTML,Along with more conventional applications like Java, Visual Basic,.NET, PHP, CSS, and JavaScript, etc.
  • working familiarity with the current versions of Microsoft Windows for desktop, server, and network computing.
  • understanding of hardware principles and technologies Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
