- The administrative center of Kondoa District is Kondoa Town. The majority of the municipal government structures were constructed during German colonialism. In addition, the town features an agricultural college, three O-Level Secondary schools, one A-Level school for girls, and a district hospital. Bustani College, which means "garden" in Kiswahili, is a college for teachers. There is an NMB bank branch nearby.
- It has a semi-arid climate. The rest of the year, Kondoa experiences little to no precipitation. The rainy season lasts from late December to mid-March. Most of the time, it is warm. Many residents of the village receive their drinking water from a hot spring.
- The town is also bisected by a river, albeit during the dry months there is hardly any water visible above ground. The river is crossed by a nice bridge.
