Summary for Position
- Ifakara Health Institute is looking for a competent and experienced Field Worker to sort mosquitoes, gather entomological data for the mobile mosquitos' phase II study, and record mosquito data in buses, trains, bus stops, and railway stations.
responsibilities and obligations
- Ensure that all information and samples gathered during the research are accurately documented and saved.
- Watch after volunteers who are working on the project (s).
- Keep all project (or projects) equipment in working order at all times.
- Keep in close contact with locals in the study region to ensure that project(s) activities function well.
- Implement quality control processes, and ensure that the project is conducted in accordance with ethical standards (s).
- Perform any additional tasks that the project leader may designate.
- Competency and Experience
- a secondary education certificate (Form 4).
- the capacity to recognize mosquitoes of various taxa.
- the capacity to survey mosquito larvae in the field.
- having experience raising mosquitoes from eggs to adults.
competencies and abilities
- excellent verbal and oral communication abilities in the local language and Swahili.
- teamwork abilities.
- Dedicated and self-driven in their approach to work.
- physical condition.
