GIS Expert at NGARA
For the Tembo Nickel Project Team, Tembo Nickel is looking to hire a GIS Specialist. The Manager of Exploration Geology is responsible for this position. The input, upkeep, and maintenance of GIS databases, coverages, layers, and connections to multiple databases are the responsibility of the Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist.

responsibilities and obligations
- construct a GIS database; analyze data qualitatively or quantitatively; and map
- Create comprehensive, top-notch cartographic deliverables (both digital and printed) and related reports in accordance with the project's technical specifications.
- Define data needs, project requirements, and intended outcomes in communication with key stakeholders and the project team.
- assemble, modify, and improve geographic data from a range of sources, such as but not limited to CAD, field observation, satellite photography, aerial photos, and pre-existing maps.
- To ensure data integrity, carry out quality control checks on non-spatial databases and GIS data with less oversight.
- Manage specific GIS, database design and administration, and data visualization project duties.
- Create a customized GIS process and data applications.
Qualifications and Skills
- ESRI ArcGIS experience of at least 5 years, AS/BS in engineering or a relevant field
- prior knowledge of producing GIS project deliverables.
- able to carry out field data collection tasks that require extensive walking and stair climbing.
- able to spend up to three weeks traveling to project locations for extended periods of time.
- Microsoft Office, Autodesk, and ESRI ArcGIS software proficiency are preferred.
- strong verbal and written communication abilities.
