JOB SUMMARY
- Create and implement a long-term corporate business plan; conduct research to advance all facets of the domestic, regional, international, conventions, conferencing, and events tourism industries. markets.
THE DUTY AND THE RESPONSIBILITY
- creating the business and marketing plan for the board;
- evaluating the effectiveness of the Board's marketing strategies to see whether key performance indicators are being met;
- creating marketing initiatives with measurable goals for measuring outcomes;
- designing and directing the production of all promotional tools and materials for distribution both domestically and internationally;
- selecting the many distribution channels for promotional materials;
- arranging for the participation in different promotional activities, travel, trade, and educational tours;
- directing the creation and upkeep of a current tourism database and overseeing the creation of the quarterly and annual reports;
- launching and managing awareness-raising initiatives for domestic travel; coordination of product and market research;
- monitoring and coordinating interactions between international and domestic tourism players;
- preparing and overseeing the entire budget for business development and marketing;
- maintaining knowledge of and adherence to all public statutes, laws, and regulations pertaining to intellectual property, copyright, and trademarks;
- establishing guidelines and procedures for protecting the privacy of all organization papers, data, records, and policies;
- carrying out any additional tasks allocated by the Director General in his or her area of expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
- a master's degree from an accredited institution in one of the following disciplines: business administration, marketing, hospitality, tourism, tourism and hospitality management, commerce, international business, economics, public relations, and marketing.
LANGUAGES
- Ideally bilingual in English and Kiswahili. It will be advantageous to know additional languages, such as French, Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese.
EXPERIENCE
- a minimum of eight years of experience, three of which should be in management roles within respectable organizations.
LIMIT OF AGE
- fifty-five (55) years or less
TERMS OF APPLICATION
- contract with a performance-based renewal period of three to five years
