Position Description
Role objectives
- Responsible for advancing the cashless society through initiatives that will expand and support merchant payments among small and medium-sized businesses and the M-Pesa ecosystem of merchant payments. Develop and implement a SME merchant payment plan, and provide professional knowledge. interacts with other groups within the area of responsibility or function, plans, and manages the resources needed for delivery
Major responsibilities
- Create and implement a SME offline and online merchant acquisition strategy.
- Develop and implement a marketing and promotion plan to boost consumer acceptance.
- Identify possibilities and create new goods by determining the problem or unmet demand of the consumer utilizing data and intelligence.
- Create an ecosystem for SME merchant payments and VAS services to draw in business users and promote adoption.
- Ensure that all SME deliveries Targets for merchant payments include active consumers and merchants, revenue, value transactions, and other payment channels.
fundamental skills, knowledge, and experience
- Experience in project management, team management, and meeting deadlines
- Commercially savvy with a strong grasp of the market, competitors, and business
- Strategically minded, with a thorough awareness of the comprehensive range of goods and services offered by the merchant business portfolio;
- Strong analytical abilities, including the capacity to evaluate reports, recognize problems and their causes, and offer recommendations for fixes
- Financial management includes creating and managing budgets and finding ways to reduce expenditures.
- Develop and maintain an excellent working environment throughout the Merchant division with the help of inspirational leadership.
- Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Writing reports is a major advantage, as is having excellent word processing and PowerPoint skills.
- Technical or professional qualifications are required:
- 5+ years' experience in the relevant field or function.
- Business administration, economics, marketing, or a related field for bachelor's degree.
- strong business sense and analytical abilities.
- Create and maintain relationships with important value chain players.
- Experience in telecommunications would be helpful.
- Experience with and knowledge of the project would be helpful.
