Important Responsibilities

Develop analytical modeling frameworks to inform breeding selection and varietal placement. Lead and manage the quantitative analytical operations across the project.
Automate routine analytical tasks and assist partners in building their capabilities as needed
Organize and coordinate the processes for data collecting and data systems.
overseeing and training research assistants and auxiliary staff analysts
Keep up on the latest recent writings in breeding informatics
help with project reporting
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
other assignments that are made in accordance with experience and current or upcoming projects

Requirements

PhD in ecology, data science, plant breeding, statistics, agronomy, informatics, or a related discipline
knowledge of quantitative analysis using massive datasets and predictive modeling
Experience in at least one of the following data science application fields: agroecology, environmental analysis, spatial statistics, plant breeding, genomics, plant physiology, and/or closely related fields.
scientific programming techniques that have been proven to be professional (e.g., version control, ensuring reproducibility, documentation, open-access publishing of data, open-source publishing of code).
It would be ideal, but not necessary, if you had experience with spatial analysis and incorporating environmental covariate models.
considerable expertise in scientific programming (using Python or R) and a track record of success.
Excellent professional English proficiency. Other language proficiency (such as Spanish, French, or Swahili) is preferred but not necessary.
proficiency in writing scientifically in English
