Regarding the role

• To support management and oversight with ongoing project finance administration, information management, and all relevant grants management for the success of the CBP project, we are looking for a project finance intern.
• You will prepare payment vouchers in accordance with the Organization's established procedures and assign them clear expenditure code lines as the project finance intern. You will also verify the accuracy of project team travel advances and retirements to ensure they are properly supported for further authorisation.
• cooperate with the program team to make sure that the Country Office receives financial reports on time, in accordance with established timelines, for approval.

Other obligations include;

• To ensure conformance with approved budgets, prepare all cash requests and financial reports for the program.
• Track the progress of project execution (both in terms of finances and programs) on a monthly basis with regard to donor compliance, documentation, learning, and sharing. Report the same to the officer in charge of finances and support services for review and additional sharing.
• Participate in and help with the monthly management reports that the finance and support services officer and manager will evaluate and approve.
• Help with the accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions, including payment vouchers, approved journal vouchers, petty cash vouchers, and receipt journal vouchers.
• Maintain accurate financial record keeping and filing in accordance with the Sightsavers Financial Framework.
• Ensure that all project documentation are accurately recorded in the appropriate files and provide administrative support.
• Establish and maintain positive public relations with all Sightsavers Tanzania partners, external suppliers, service providers, and interested parties.

About you

• If selected, you will have a degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or a related field, as well as at least a level one accounting qualification that is recognized (e.g. CPA 1).

Additional conditions include;

• background in or experience with project management and program finance.
• Outstanding proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, accounting software, and international ICT communication systems.
• fluency in Swahili and English.
