DETAILS OF THE POSITION

Title: Communications and Logistics Officer
in coordination with the Senior Technical Advisor, Gender, Senior Technical Advisor, Program Manager serves as the supervisor.
Location: Dar es Salaam, ESP Field Office
Beginning on December 1, 2022

duties specific to the position

  • The Communications and Logistics Officer, who reports to the Senior Technical Advisor (STA), is in charge of all requests from Colleges and Institutes Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and other ESP partners, including visibility on social media, managing a Facebook page, and collaborating with other staff members on newsletters and digital briefs.
  • Additionally, to assist ESP's visibility in Tanzania, the Communications and Logistics Officer will analyze the promotional context and provide guidance. The Communications and Logistics Officer will collaborate closely with CICan and its partners to promote effective awareness and acknowledgment of ESP's impact. They will also attend events or meetings organized on various relevant ESP-related issues.
  • The Finance & Administration Officer, the ESP field team, and the Communications and Logistics Officer will get help from these individuals with the logistics, planning, and execution of workshops, events, and meetings.

Experience, training, and competencies

  • a citizen of Tanzania or legally able to work in
  • Note that CICan does not sponsor people or issue work permits.
  • Bachelor's or diploma in a relevant discipline (Communications, Media Studies)
  • Excellent writing and vocal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili. Fluent in both languages.
  • outstanding written, oral, and presentational skills with the capacity to convey knowledge to a variety of audiences throughout
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, or outreach
  • a track record of organizing and coordinating workshops, events, and
  • demonstrated expertise in writing news/blog articles, reports, fact sheets, speeches, success stories, Impact / Stories of Change, and press releases, among other types of written goods.
  • knowledge of social media platforms and other media, including writing and sharing messages on Twitter, Facebook, and other
  • knowledge in photography and videography, with experience in production and editing
  • Graphic design expertise is strongly recommended
  • experience conducting interviews in English and other languages with community residents, project partners, and government officials, particularly women and teenage girls
  • Ability to engage cooperatively, actively, and fairly with a variety of community, governmental, and other stakeholders
  • shown professionalism, timeliness, care for details, endurance, humor, and an all-around amiable and upbeat attitude.
