- NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL (BASATA) Law No. 23 of 1984 and its modifications No. 5 of 2019 established the National Arts Council. The National Arts Council is a government organization that has expanded opportunities for all of the arts in the nation after making changes. The National Arts Council effectively manages and promotes the amount and quality of artistic work in the nation. The Arts Council's goal is to encourage community participation in the best artistic endeavors by facilitating their creation, usage, and participation. The National Arts Council's obligations The Council's duties include motivating people, promoting Tanzanian culture as having high value, and being in charge of reviving and promoting the arts in the nation. It also advises the government on issues pertaining to the growth of the arts in the nation and conducts various studies on related topics.
