Position: Process Plant Operators at Shanta Mining Company Limited
CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The aim of this role is to Operate sections of the Process Plant in a safe and efficient manner to achieve operating and metallurgy targets
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES OF THE ROLE
Process Plant Operator has the following Accountabilities and Authorities:
- Ensure total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of PML, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Operate the Process Plant in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production targets.
- Operate the Process Plant to achieve metallurgical KPI’s set by Metallurgists.
- Operate mobile equipment associated with the Process Plant.
- Report any maintenance requirements to the Process Section Supervisor.
- Report all operating problems to the Process Section Supervisor.
- Follow Safe Work Procedures and other operational procedures.
- Actively participate in training activities to gain new skills, develop full potential and assume increasing accountability.
- Under the direction of the Process Section Supervisor, provide appropriate on-the- job training and coaching to less experience personnel.
- Be proactive in all aspects of Process Plant security to prevent and eliminate theft and fraud.
- Continually review every aspect of the Process Plant to ensure that opportunities to add value are identified.
- Attend regular safety meetings.
- Ensure adherence to all SMCL policies and procedures.
- Carry out any other relevant duties as assigned by the Process Section Supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLED KNOWLEDGE
Qualification:
- Form IV Secondary Education: or
- FTC/Trade test grade 1 in mechanical or electrical disciplines. Experience:
- Two years practical work experience
- Previous experience in an industrialized plant is beneficial
Skills:
- Knowledge of Tanzanian customs and legal processes
- Strong influencing skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Good written and verbal English language skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- Resilient and resourceful
