Front End Loader (Fel) Operator (4 Posts) at Shanta Mining Company Limited October, 2022
CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Is accountable for safely and efficiently operation of the front-end loader that perform loading and transporting various materials to and from storage or processing areas to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES OF THE ROLE
The following are the accountabilities of FEL Operator:
- Operates front end loader safely and efficiently in compliance with the Shanta Mining Co. Ltd operating safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and maintains accurate records.
- Inspects Front End Loader at the beginning of the shift making sure fuel, water and oil are at proper levels and checks the brakes, hydraulics, greases the bucket and checks for any damage as directed by checklist. Checklist must be filled after inspection and submitted to maintenance planner.
- Send the Front-End Loader to Workshop for routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance every day.
- Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.
- Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle.
- Identify risks /hazards associated with his/her working environment and obtain assistance from Supervisor to generate an action plan to minimize/eliminate the risk/hazard.
- Perform any other duty as will be directed by his/her supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLED KNOWLEDGE
Qualification:
- Form Four(IV) Certificate.
- Certificate for Loader/Heavy duty machine/Equipment’s from a recognized institution
- Driving License is required Experience:
- Experience and knowledge within the mining industry is preferred.
- Heavy duty Modules relevant to respective equipment would be advantageous.
- Good written and verbal English language skills are essential.
