Position Objectives: -
- The Chinese Translator will be a Tanzanian, to work under both, Sectional Management and on dotted line to the Lead of the HR Department at HQs, who will be responsible in support of Communication functions by being able to read, comprehend and translate Chinese words and ideas into another languages (English & Swahili in particular) while ensuring that the core/original ideas and information from the original texts are retained, not distorted.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: -
• Provides both simultaneous and consecutive interpretational support,
• Translating Chinese printed materials, technical manuals and periodicals into good grammatical English,
• Ensuring translated texts convey original meaning and tone,
• Prepares and updates databases of translated source Chinese material for office use,
• Scans intercepted data and determines as pertinent or non-pertinent to mission requirements,
• Effective participation in analytical meetings or conferences when applicable materials are required.
• General:
Perform any other related duties as shall be assigned by the immediate/direct supervisor from time to time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualities for this position;
· Proven abilities in the application of everyday Chinese (Mandarin), minimum HSK Level IV
· Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a reputable Higher Learning Institution/University plus minimum of 06 months of relevant experience,
· Must have good knowledge of computers with experience in the MS Applications,
· Good command in oral and written communication skills on both English and Swahili.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND BEHAVIORAL REQUIRED:
· Must be honest, trustful and a reliable good team player,
· Proven ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision,
· Must be proactive and disciplined approach to work,
· Must possess good interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented approach,
· Should be flexible and willing for overtime assignments as and when need be,
· Ability to work both independently and within teams
· Ability to work in a demanding and dynamic work environment,
