Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability. The mission of UNIDO, as described in the Lima Declaration adopted at the fifteenth session of the UNIDO General Conference in 2013 as well as the Abu Dhabi Declaration adopted at the eighteenth session of UNIDO General Conference in 2019, is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States.MAIN DUTIES
- The expert will work under the overall guidance of the Project Manager, Chief Technical Advisor (CTA), Lead International Expert on CABs and National Project Coordinator (NPC) to strengthen the services of the M&E Department at TBS and to monitor and evaluate the QUALITAN project activities, and link these activities to overall impact of the BEGIN project: business, standards and innovation.
MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Advanced university degree in Economics, mathematics, statistics, Business Administration, or related field, is required.
Technical and Functional Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation and project cycle management, is required.
- Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports, is required.
- Experience related to quantitative and qualitative monitoring methodologies and proven ability to design monitoring tools, as well as in designing and implementation of capacity building activities in M&E, is desirable.
- Proficient in computer literacy, specifically Excel and Word, is required.
Languages:
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili is required. Fluency or working knowledge of another official language of the United Nations is desirable.
