FOC TANZANIA SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT is looking for Assistant General

Manager and Transportation Officer to plan and coordinate our daily logistic activities.

To succeed in this role, you should have thorough knowledge of supply chain management and an

understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking

transportation vehicles. You should also be familiar with safety processes and legal regulations.

Ultimately, you will ensure that all transportation are handled quickly, safely and within budget

1. ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Reporting to: Country Director

Location: Dar es Salaam- Tanzania.

 Plan and supervise the shipments from production to the end-user

 Report daily and weekly routes

 Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)

 Coordinate with workshop employees to ensure proper storage and usage of spare parts.

 Monitor and report on transportation costs

 Ensure transportations documents are properly filed.

 Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment

 Research and suggest cost-effective of transportation methods.

 Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders

 Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation

 Stay up-to-date with safety regulations

Requirements and skills

 Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, or similar role

 Solid knowledge of supply chain management

 Experience preparing and tracking orders

 Familiarity with logistics software

 Excellent organizational skills

 Ability to supervise and train staff

 Problem-solving abilities

 High school diploma

 BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field is a plus

2. TRANSPORTATION OFFICER

Reporting to: Country Director

Location: Dar es Salaam- Tanzania

 Coordinate with clients to determine transport requirements and schedule transport.

 Coordinate the movement of vehicles and other transportation assets;

 Ensure the appropriate use, maintenance and repair of all light vehicles and trucks.

 Create and/or modify various systems to manage the movement of vehicles and personnel;

 Keep transportation documents active.

 Ensure sufficient supply of fuel and oil trucks ready for trips.

 Manage fuel requests, and spare parts inventories;

 Produce monthly fuel and vehicle use reports, “work orders,” etc.

 Ensure claims documents e.g. delivery note are available on time.

 Ensure trucks from trips are inspected for damage.

Requirements and Skills

 Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a transport department

 Diploma or Bachelor degree in logistic

 Recognized ability to work as part of a team

 Significant experience in fleet management and / or logistics

 Understanding of policies and procedures governing the management of motorized assets and the

contracting of transportation services

 Driving skills is required.

 Strong negotiating skills

 Demonstrated rational and logical thinking; ability to creatively and quickly find solutions to

problems.

 Experience managing inventories (e.g., asset and spare part stock management)

 Fluency (writing, reading, speaking) in English

 Computer experience: Windows systems, MS Word and MS Excel;
