Location: Kibondo/Kasulu, Tanzania
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Gender-based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Advocacy Assistant to join its team in Kibondo/Kasulu, Tanzania. The Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the GBV Team Leader and the guidance of the Protection Coordinator. This position requires working with women, men, boys, and girls from Nduta/Nyarugusu refugee camps and the local community nearby the camps.
Responsibilities include:
- Participating in risk reduction activities and identifying risks to women, men, boys, and girls in assigned refugee camps and host communities.
- Conducting community mobilization and promoting timely referrals for GBV services.
- Facilitating training and workshops on gender and GBV-related issues.
- Collaborating with GBV Prevention & Advocacy Officer to develop program budgets/proposals.
- Advocating for gender inclusion in key sector meetings.
- Conducting awareness on Men's accountability in ending violence against women and girls.
- Preparing work plans and reports on activities and submitting them to the GBV Team Leader.
- Identifying and ensuring the availability of resources needed for GBV Prevention & Advocacy activities.
- Performing any other activities assigned by the GBV Team Leader.
The ideal candidate should have experience in
- GBV prevention and advocacy, knowledge of gender and GBV issues, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Note: This job is based in Kasulu/Kibondo and requires regular field visits to the host villages nearby Nyarugusu and Nduta refugee camps.
Job Summary:
The Data Collection and Reporting Officer will work closely with the GBV Information Management Officer and the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) department to support program data collection and contribute to the GBV overall intervention strategy based on feedback received from the community. The role will also involve building the knowledge and skills of prevention/outreach social workers and community groups, engaging with community activists and supporting the DRC Tanzania Country Strategy Action Plan.
Responsibilities:
- Support GBV program data collection and report generation.
- Participate in GBV rapid assessments and contribute to the overall intervention strategy.
- Build the knowledge and skills of prevention/outreach social workers and community groups.
- Engage with community activists and maintain network and working relationships.
- Attend trainings and follow procedures and guidelines.
- Support DRC Tanzania Country Strategy Action Plan implementation.
- Report any violations of the DRC Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Code of Conduct.
- Assist in activities to prevent sexual abuse and exploitation of refugees.
- Represent DRC at interagency meetings as assigned.
- Manage equipment and supplies, assist with budget/proposal development.
- Report security incidents in the DRC premises.
Experience & Technical Competencies:
- 1-2 years of experience in protection, particularly in the field of humanitarian responses in refugee protection.
- Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in implementing Gender Based Violence, Case management, referral-related activities, and awareness is desirable.
- Field experience in an emergency context is highly desirable.
- High level of personal initiative, analytical skills, and proactive problem-solving.
- Cultural sensitivity, commitment, and understanding of the values of DRC. Good communication skills.
Education:
- Diploma in Social studies, Gender and Development or other relevant fields from a well-recognized college or university (preferred).
Languages:
- Good proficiency in English and Swahili. Kirundi is an added advantage.

Prevention & Advocacy Officer (Re-advertisement)

The GBV Prevention and Advocacy Officer will work with women, men, boys and girls both from refugee camps and the local community to implement prevention and risk reduction activities against Gender-based violence (GBV). The Officer will conduct regular field visits, prepare work plans, conduct trainings, information dissemination, participate in data collection and reporting, support program management, and handle logistics duties.
The ideal candidate should have
minimum 1-2 years of experience in protection, particularly in humanitarian responses, with strong knowledge of GBV issues. The Officer will report to the GBV Team Leader and work closely with other GBV team members and partners.

Job Title: Finance Specialist
Purpose of Role:
The Finance Specialist will support the Finance Manager and Area Manager in the Kigoma region of Tanzania, with a focus on accounting and financial control systems. This senior finance role requires an experienced individual with the ability to think big picture and deliver hands-on results. The Specialist will ensure compliance with DRC procedures, relevant Tanzanian laws and regulations, and contribute to the development of strategies. They will provide support and guidance to the country operations and be responsible for the review and validation of financial records and project reports.
Responsibilities:
• Review and validate financial records for compliance with DRC and donor policies and procedures
• Review and validate project financial reports for compliance with DRC and donor policies
• Lead the submission of financial statements and ensure compliance with Tanzanian rules and regulations
• Implement recommendations for tax compliance and draft, review, and validate budget proposals
• Oversee the creation of project set-up in DRC ERP system, monitor monthly reconciliation and provide feedback on payment requests and financial documents
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls, develop compliance self-checks, and provide training as needed
• Review donor reports for accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
• Serve as finance focal point for local partners and consortium projects
• Support the development of SOPs and localized policies
Experience and Skills:
• Master’s degree in finance or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in finance, 3 years in compliance functions preferred
• Experience working for a large INGO with knowledge of INGO rules, regulations, and policies
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili
• Knowledge of financial system software, Microsoft ERP preferred
Education:
• Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or International Development
• Certification as CA, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory
