Job Tittle: Protection Team Leader (Child Protection)
Overall purpose of the role:
The Child Protection Team Leader will lead the Child Protection programme in Nyarugusu or Nduta camp, have overall responsibility for programme activities, coordinate effective and efficient programme planning, be responsible for ensuring high quality MEAL across the CP programme, be responsible for management of CP activity budgets, provide line management and/or supervision to all technical CP staff, provide technical leadership to the CP programme including strategy development, represent DRC in all county-level coordination fora, and act as the primary local point of contact for donor engagement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Regular and timely updating of deliverable for all CP projects in the Grant Management System, ensuring the grants management filing system is maintained.
- Coordinate, compile, review and edit all project reporting (both internal and external), ensuring high quality and timely report submission in line with donor compliance requirements, managing monthly and quarterly Rolling Action Plans (RAPs), including with partners and sub-grantees where relevant.
- Organize and lead grant management meetings according to DRC grants management guidelines (kick-off, project closure meetings, review meetings, Project Steering Committee meetings etc.). Ensure that relevant grants management and donor regulations and requirements are adequately shared and understood by the programme and support teams, through trainings and mentorship for staff, including for partners and sub-grantees (e.g. in consortia)
- Support proper management of sub-grantees where relevant.
- Support the country office and field teams in the implementation of quality technical project activities including working closely with the MEL department in conducting monitoring and verification, gathering lessons learnt and community feedback, and strengthening accountability mechanisms.
- Assist the project manager design, proposal development, fundraising, project planning and implementation.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders – Government,UNHCR and NGOs to enhance multi-agency and multi-sectoral cooperation and coordination.
- Strengthen DRC’s partnership with ReDSS through collaboration & mainstreaming of solutions approach in DRC’s programmes.
- Assist the SMT and E-SMT in organizing Quarterly Review Meetings, Annual Review meeting, and others as needed. Attend internal and external coordination meetings on behalf of the SMT as needed.
- Develop, design & implement a DRC specific advocacy agenda. Conduct periodic analysis on displacement related policies and advise programme teams
- Provide technical input on project related branding and visibility materials.
- Provide technical support to Protection teams including capacity building and support for activities, act as the country focal point on Protection programming including integration and mainstreaming, and adherence to Minimum Standards across all DRC Tanzania interventions.
Data collection and reporting
- Track indicators, maintain, update and analyse data on Child case management, physicosocial support, community based child protection, birth registration and indicator.
- With support from officers, prepare and submit timely and quality weekly, monthly, quality and other donor reports as per the donor requirements. Accountable to meet reporting deadline.
- Support and working closely with CP Information Management officer and M&E on program data collection, track indicators, maintain, update and analyse data on child protection activity and indicator.
- In collaboration with Protection coordinator, CP officer and M&E department, participate in GBV rapid assessment and/or other CP program related-assessment, and contribute to the CP overall intervention strategy based on feedback received from women, men, boys and girls throughout community mobilization and engagement.
Program management
- With support and the supervision of protection Coordinator, BID specialist and CP officers participate in all prevention budget planning; accountable for developing and maintaining work plans, spending and procurement plans, tracking expenditures and ensure all prevention activities are allowable and allocated according to DRC and donor compliance and regulations.
- Build the knowledge and skills of Prevention/outreach incentive social workers and community-based groups to be able to advocate, response and prevent GBV.
- Engaging with community activist and EMAP graduate to obtain the network and working relationship
- Approve supervise the CP team and approving recruitment of incentive.
Logistics Duties
- Take care of equipment’s and supplies for the job
- Ensure working equipment’s are in good condition and replenish/repairs when out of order
- Reports immediately any security incidence/issue detected in the DRC premises

- Knowledge of donor rules, regulations, and procedures including but not limited to US and European donors, EU funding mechanisms, and UN agencies.
- Knowledge and experience in working with national government and devolved units.

Job Tittle: Economic Recovery Officer – GIS Specialist
Overall purpose of the role

The Economic Recovery Officer – under the PIBE project, and under the management and supervision of the Economic Recovery Team Leader, and in close collaboration with the camp-based government coordination bodies will be responsible for supporting the implementation of PIBE project activities in the refugee camp and host community. The Economic Recovery Officer is therefore expected to be flexible to work in different locations within DRC Tanzania operation.Main Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and tasks
- Participate and contribute to DRC PIBE learning platforms/events throughout the implementation of the project including conducting capacity building and experience sharing among project stakeholders including national colleagues to reinforce government capacities for GIS-based land use, forest monitoring, and information management;
- Prepare maps of land use change and land degradation, forest cover, and others to support the identification of key geographic areas that need immediate interventions, such as afforestation/reforestation
- Conducting systematic and real-time deforestation and fire monitoring across the three districts of Kibondo, Kasulu, and Kakonko districts
- Provide training to government partners and other DRC staff in basic GIS applications such as making maps with forest inventory data (including forest/land cover/use mapping and change detection)
- Coordinate the preparation of geospatial databases, maps, and descriptive statistics for major land degradation types as well as provide support for the calculation of the land degradation indicators
- Provide support in the development of a web-based geospatial information-sharing platform and dashboards in close collaboration with the information management team.
- Examine and update the existing thematic maps/dashboards on forestry/woodlots and assess their quality in terms of thematic details, dates of production, methods of production, and precision;
- Conducting survival rate assessments of the planted trees in established woodlots in collaboration with DRC economic recovery staff and the Local Government Authorities.
- Assist in planning and organizing satellite image classification and interpretation including field checking and validation.
- Assist in any other tasks under the projects at the instruction of the Economic Recovery Team Leader.
- Comply with the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and the DRC’s Code of Conduct (CoC);
- Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with key humanitarian actors – local and international, including government authorities and private sectors.

Job Tittle: Protection Officer (Psychologist)
Overall purpose of the role:
The Psychologist will ensure the emotional and social wellbeing of the children supported by DRC by supporting implementation of Psycho social support programme within the DRC Emergency Responses in Kigoma Region. The position holder in coordination with staff in child protection particularly case management, Psycho-social Support (PSS) and community-based teams as well as partners will ensure that refugees children receive timely and appropriate structured psycho-social support services. S/he will also be facilitating training for the PSS staff on key topics including but not limited PSS, Psychological first aid and other related topics.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide on-going technical support to staff implementing psycho-social support activities in Child Friendly Space and the Community.
- Undertake assessment of psycho-social or Psycho social needs, risk assessments and psychometric testing if needed.
- Facilitating Capacity building sessions for key staff teams including social workers as well as associate such as incentives workers and partners on PSS, Psychological first aid and effectively communicating with children and youth in distress among others.
- Identify online courses on PSS and other related theme for staff to undertake in order to build their capacity.
- Develop and update work plans for the implementation of PSS activities.
- Regular follow up to ensure all services and actions points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed time frames.
- Develop and put in place the necessary tools to evaluate the outcomes of Psycho-social support intervention.
- Writing reports and record keeping of all information regarding activities (Data, weekly reports, monthly reports) respecting quality standards.
- Collaborate with key agencies, local authorities and organization for provision of provide psycho-social support (as needed) to affected children and young people in all plan’s and sometimes their families as well.
- Represent DRC in relevant working groups such as the MHPSS WG and others as will be required.
- Empower staff teams especially those managing CFSs and case management to be able to identify children with Psycho-social issues and how to provide Psychological first aid in the absence of a psychologist.
- Work in close collaboration with child protection team leader and other team leaders to ensure that the psycho-social well-being of children and young people is addressed.
- Support teams in addressing the special needs of beneficiaries that face psycho-social issue and the consequences this has on their families and community.
- Responsible for ensuring the provision of individual and group counselling/ discussion for beneficiaries and care givers in orders to facilitate his/her community integration.
- Support staff’s teams in the CFS and case management to ensure the PSS spaces are according to standard and record management including database is effective.
- Identify and work with management to equip centers and office with relevant PSS materials including manuals or books, IEC among others.

Job Tittle: Protection Officer (Legal Officer)
Overall Purpose Of The Role:
The legal officer will provide litigation support to PoCs on humanitarian cases and offer legal analysis/training to refugees in Nduta and Nyarugusu camps. Will strengthen capacity of legal support in supporting legal practitioners representing POCs in need of international protection. Legal officer will work closely with paralegal on raising awareness to POCs on child protection, GBV, refugees rights, child labour, child’s rights, help desk, juvenile court and mobile court.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and tasks
- Reviews domestic violence police reports and establishes contact with the victim(s) to check on their status/safety. Educates the victim(s) on the criminal process and the role of the legal criminal advocate.
- Acts as a liaison between the victim(s) in domestic violence criminal cases and the prosecutors and courts, coordinate interviews, meetings, court appearances and relay victim input.
- Represent POCs in mobile court, juvenile court and planning visitation to prisoners in Kasulu/Kibondo DC and in camps.
- Working with paralegal in ensuring there are legal help desks (mobile and stationed) for legal awareness to PoCs such as permits to go outside the camp.
- Drafting legal submission and making legal representation of PoCs and community members during court sessions in cases of GBV and child protection.
- Making mediation and negotiation in cases such as card splitting, neighborhood conflict and family conflict.
- Assists PoCs seeking orders for Protection and attends court hearings when needed.
- Assigning duties and supervising interpreters and paralegals in performing their duties.
- Performs crisis intervention advocacy and social service referrals when necessary, and accompanies law enforcement with follow-up calls on Assessment of GBV survivors.
- Serves as a link between the DRC and the judicial/legal communities.
- Providing legal advice, trainings on child labor and trafficking to PoCs when litigating legal issues.
- In collaboration with case management officer, linking GBV survivors to psychosocial social support and livelihood opportunities.
- Undertaking legal research and organizing legal trainings to national staffs and partners.

Job Tittle: Protection Assistant (PsychoSocial Support)
Overall purpose of the role:
Under the supervision of the GBV Team leader, the PSS officer will implement GBV case management activities delivered by DRC in Tanzania. Specifically, he/she will provide case management services to GBV survivors and other beneficiaries affected by the crisis.
The assistant will work hands in hands with the whole DRC Tanzania protection team and tag along the rapid assessment team, the community engagement team as well as support in the protection centers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide case management services through high quality and confidential interventions in line with minimum standards for service provision and DRC’s case management SOPs.
- Conduct referrals to relevant services when needed, while implementing the action plan and ensuring appropriate follow up and case closure when appropriate
- Provide counseling for all survivors referred to case management service.
- Conduct case management in safe spaces identified in collaboration with survivors.
- File and store GBV data in the Gender-Based Violence Information Management Systems (GBVIMS) in compliance with the information sharing protocol developed at the inter-agency level.
- Provide emotional support group sessions to women, men, boys and girls at risk of or survivors of gender-based violence in compliance with best-practice and DRC’s guidelines.
- Support in delivering basic GBV trainings to community-based structures, including sessions on the GBV core concepts and guiding principles and the safe identification and referral of GBV cases.
- Raise gaps in GBV response services and suggest possible solution and referral protocols to the GBV Team Leader.
- Ensure regular quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Gender-based violence- related projects and interventions;
- Engage with the community and community representatives to understand needs and gaps in Gender-based violence programming;
- Incorporate a survivor-centered approach in all GBV case management activities;
- Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality for all case-related information; protect the identities of survivors in the design and implementation of all activities;
- Work closely with community workers to ensure awareness of services in the community, facilitate referrals into and out of the community center, and to support survivors on GBV protection related needs;
- Ensure updated filing and documentation of Gender-based violence cases in line with DRC tools.
- Alert GBV Officers, GBV coordinator and the Protection Manager of any gaps in process, tools, or staff capacities to meet the needs of beneficiaries or ensure confidentiality and survivor-centered care;
- Prepare work plans and reports (weekly/monthly) on the activities and submit them timely to Protection Team Leader [community-based]
- Ensure full cooperation with other protection assistants and act on their behalf during their absence
