Position Description

• The University of Abdulrahman Al-Sumait (SUMAIT) was founded on the ruins of the old University College of Education Zanzibar (UCEZ), which had been started in 1998 by the Kuwait-based charity Direct Aid (DA). In keeping with this growth, the university is also reorganizing its curriculum and adding positions to meet its demands.
• In order to fill the following academic openings, Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT) is seeking applications from individuals who are appropriately qualified and competent.

ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT

• Arabic and linguistics department
• Arabic assistant, lecturer, senior, and professorial lecturers (One post)
• Kiswahili language assistant, lecturer, senior lecturer (Two post)

Education Department

• Senior Lecturer in Educational Curriculum and Instruction Assistant Lecturer (One post)
• Study of social issues
• History assistant lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer (Two posts)
• Geography assistant lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer (Two posts)

Counseling and psychology department

• Counseling Psychology Assistant, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer (Two posts) Division of Islamic Studies.
• Professor/Senior Professor of Islamic Studies/Islamic Law (One Post).

Department of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Sciences

• Mathematics Assistant, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer (One post)
• Physics Assistant, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer (One post).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Lecturer

• holder of a PhD together with a Master's degree with a GPA of 4.0 or higher and an undergraduate degree in the appropriate discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
• An extra advantage is having prior experience teaching at the university level.
• A successful candidate must have prior teaching experience at the college level.
• We will take into account all specialties.
• Applications from candidates with further qualifications are encouraged.

Assistant Professor

• holder of a master's degree with a minimum GPA of 4.0 and an undergraduate degree in the appropriate discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
• Undergraduate courses and student research supervision are both parts of teaching duties.
• Continually engage in research that yields publications in peer-reviewed journals and outside financing for that research
• creating graduate and undergraduate academic programs.
• whatever other tasks that the university may impose.

Application Mode

• Applications must be accompanied by a thorough Curriculum Vitae (CV), certified copies of all academic credentials, and the names and contact information for three non-relative individuals who can serve as references. Tanzania Commission for Universities should confirm any foreign degrees received (TCU).

• The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) should verify any certificates from international universities; otherwise, your request won't be taken into account.
• Legal action will be required if certificates and other documents are presented that are false.
