Job Description for Advisor -Laboratory Services in Njombe
- MDH (Sub recipient), in partnership with Deloitte Consulting Limited (Prime), is looking to hire suitable people to fill the following positions as part of the USAID-funded Afya Yangu Southern Program.
Advisor - Laboratory Services is the title of the position (1 Post)

Summary of Position:
- A self-driven person will be in charge of providing overall technical leadership and management of Laboratory services implementation in the assigned region as the Advisor-Laboratory Services. This includes being informed of significant developments in the field of laboratory support and standards for the HIV and TB programs, putting significant program,
- Priorities at the national and international levels include Laboratory services for the HIV and TB programs, as well as collaborating with and offering technical guidance and support to other regional employees in the sponsored region. She or he will work closely with the facilities supported by the USAID Afya Yangu Southern Program as well as the relevant regional and district health management teams.
Requirements: Education, professional background, and skills
- Biomedical laboratory science degree or medical laboratory science diploma are also acceptable options.
- 3 years of technical experience in Laboratory Services for HIV and TB programs, along with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in public health programs.
- working knowledge of HIV programs supported by PEPFAR.
- experience with CQI, Data Analysis, Interpretation, and Use, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), and operational analysis for the program's laboratory services for HIV and TB.
- ability to work and perform with little supervision under pressure and strict deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as presenting abilities.
- proficiency in Swahili and English, both written and spoken.
- outstanding computing skills (MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work autonomously with little supervision.
- the ability to travel at least 80% of the time to the implementation districts
