• For our customer, which runs lodges and luxury camps in the Serengeti National Park, we are now recruiting for the aforementioned role.

Summary of Position:

• Demand for prepared culture media stock vs stock availability, production planning, the purchase of materials and services, and for the operation of lodges and camps, maintaining dependable and cost-effective sources of supply are all managed through purchasing and planning.

Important Responsibilities

• Control the lodge and camp procurement process at a reasonable price. accountable for the spending limit set by the lodge or camp management.
• Deal with problems with Vendors
• Execute and oversee supplier agreements in compliance with the lodge's rules to maximize service, quality, and cost
• Create and implement cost-cutting and operational initiatives in line with the goals set by the leadership of the lodges and camps.
• oversees the planning and scheduling of retail operations based on consumer orders.
• maintains control over product, raw material, and good stock levels to guarantee continuous customer supply.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages correct annual (or at intervals as directed by the Lodge/Camps leadership) stock counts of goods, services, and other things that are needed. Accurate weekly stock counts of goods are also managed.
• accountable for a system that tracks sourcing savings and provides sourcing information for monthly and quarterly operations reviews.Establish operational procedures for managing supplier risk, managing price inflation, and lean sourcing.
• To accomplish supplier rationalization and transaction reduction, enhance the functional perfection of sourcing methods, especially with regard to food sourcing.
• Attend internal meetings, divisional meetings, and supplier meetings to represent the purchasing department.

• Own hiring, training, and performance management, as well as coaching, certification, and training of department teams, to ensure the acquisition of all necessary skills for operation, upkeep, switchover, and troubleshooting independently in a quality and safe manner.

• By ably presiding over tiered meetings, especially the Tier reviews, you may effectively set the daily direction for your departments.

• Develop, execute, and monitor programs to enhance vendor selection, quality, delivery, and performance as well as total ownership in collaboration with our vendors to make sure that vendor performance requirements are met.

Minimum specifications/requirements:

• It is necessary to be a certified purchasing manager or possess a comparable certificate.
• 4–6 years of procurement experience
• monetarily, legally, and commercially astute
• demonstrated capacity to act independently and use wise business judgment to boost performance
• the capacity to influence others' behavior through coaching and mentoring them
• the capacity to express difficult concepts in a simple manner
• Excellent project management abilities, including the capacity to launch initiatives
