Summary:

• The sole large-scale diamond producer in Tanzania is Williamson Diamond Limited (WDL). The 146-hectare Mwadui kimberlite pipe, one of the largest economically significant kimberlites in the world, serves as the foundation for the open pit mine. Williamson Diamond Limited has peacefully coexisted with the villagers near Mwadui for over 80 years while carrying out a variety of development activities for the past ten years.

Role Specification

• The position will report to the production manager and be in charge of overseeing and monitoring all production activities generally. It will also be responsible for monitoring and adhering to all company safety and security policies and practices at the facility.

responsibilities and tasks:

• overseeing and improving operations teams and procedures.
• Observe and follow all company safety and security policies and practices in the plant, slimes, and tails
• Observe all production activities in accordance with the rules.
• Track all consumables used in the production process.
• To improve performance, assign and supervise plant foremen in the performance of their duties and share production information with the plant manager or general manager and crews.
• Organize and maintain the budget and expenses for production operations.
• oversee the safety of all plant employees and the places in which they work, and help fix any issues or machine defects that are found.
• reviewing safety measures to make sure that staff members are always adhering to them.
• ensuring that structures and equipment are safe by doing safety inspections.
• checking engineering blueprints and designs to make sure they adhere to safety standards and other specifications.
• collaborating with other staff members to make sure projects are finished on schedule and on budget.
• collaborating with other staff members to create a production budget for the future year that takes plant performance, new regulations, and other potential production operations-impacting issues into account.
• establishing and keeping positive working relationships with suppliers or manufacturers to get the best deals on process equipment or supplies.
• advising major upgrades for machinery and equipment to boost productivity and safety.
• coordinating with the maintenance crew to manage the upkeep of plant machinery and equipment to guarantee proper facility operation.
• keeping track of capital expenditures, personnel, production, and critical equipment maintenance.
• Make sure all necessary paperwork is accurate and submitted on time, including shift report details, daily reports, month-end inventory, plant consumables usage and inventories, task training, safety and first aid information, and so on.

For all applicants, there are minimum requirements:

• Engineering in Mineral Processing Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
• 7 years or more of experience as a plant superintendent.
• capable of using a computer.
• Excellent English and Swahili written and vocal communication
• having a valid driver's license.
