Manager of Saccos

Position Description

Located in Dar es Salaam, WAT SACCOS is a Savings and Credit Cooperative Society.

• Its primary function is to offer its members credit and savings opportunities. It has more than 18,800 members and a Tshs 3.6 billion worth of outstanding loans in its portfolio. A SACCOS manager is needed to carry out the following functions and obligations, among others:

Competencies and educational requirements

• a degree in business administration, finance, or accounting, or its equivalent
• the capacity to assign and oversee tasks
• observance of the SACCOS Rules and Regulations to the letter
• strong mental and analytical abilities
• A Masters degree will be helpful.

Experience

• At least five (5) years of relevant work experience, with at least three of those years spent in a senior position, in SACCOS, cooperatives, or the microfinance sector
• Information about yourself
• proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent Swahili and English verbal and written communication
• an optimistic attitude and a team player

Adaptable accessibility

• General responsibilities include coordinating the SACCOS's activities and achieving its goals.
• Realization of the numerous actions envisioned in the SACCOS business strategy and the results that follow
• oversees how SACCOS personnel are carrying out their jobs in accordance with the WAT SACCOS Human Resource Policy, SACCOS Rules and Regulations, and other policies.
• an official Board secretary

• establishing goals in line with the company plan at the beginning of the year
• signing further contracts with SACCOS
• monitoring of employees
• assessing employee performance and reporting to the board
• examining the loan portfolio's quality
• adherence to governing body regulations
• commitment to work hard and benefit the compan

• the capacity to inspire and foster teamwork among employees
• intelligence and proficiency with microfinance techniques
• Application of judgment and edging to juniors
• the capacity to carry out plans
• Decision-making ability to communicate
• Salary is in accordance with the WAT SACCOS salary structure.
