JOB OBJECTIVE

  • The Head Legal oversees a company's effective management, ensures that all legal requirements are met, and puts Board of Directors decisions into action. Additionally, the position holder is in charge of managing the Legal department effectively and efficiently, offering legal advice, and making sure that legal and contractual risks are effectively managed throughout the Mobile Money Business. The Board of Directors has the authority to appoint this post as Company Secretary. Recommended:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make sure the Mobile Money Business has the appropriate contracts in place with all of its clients and business partners.
  • Discuss board governance issues with auditors, attorneys, tax advisors, bankers, and shareholders.
  • Maintain and manage litigation reports, look over cases that are still pending, and give management appropriate guidance.
  • keeper of all contracts and other records relating to the Company
  • In order to guarantee that the proper steps have been taken when legal risks have been discovered, communicate with the necessary departments.
  • Cooperate with the other Department officials to choose a witness for trials or committees hearing consumer complaints.
  • Give management legal defense and risk management guidance, particularly on contract management and customer experience issues in accordance with the NPS act and all pertinent laws connected to mobile money and financial services.
  • Educate staff on pertinent legal obligations, offer training, and provide information on the law.
  • Review internal rules and procedures for legal ramifications and provide management with advice.
  • Verify that all internal policies, contracts, and agreements are reviewed, drafted, and in conformity with all applicable laws.
  • To guarantee that information is provided on time, develop and offer advice on the appropriate checklist to be used while negotiating, reviewing, and drafting documentation for commercial transactions.
  • Ensure efficient and effective administration of the Legal department's personnel and resources through exercising leadership.
  • perform the duties of a company secretary and make sure that all laws are being followed
  • As required by management, provide any further legal and corporate secretarial assistance.

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • LLB as a first-year degree;
  • LLM will be an additional benefit;
  • Advocate of the Tanzanian High Court is required.
  • At least eight years of legal experience, ideally in the fields of banking, telecommunications, microfinance, and mobile financing services, with a track record of successfully negotiating and structuring contracts
  • knowledge of offering legal advice;
  • a track record of enhancing a company's worth by creating thorough contract documents that reduce risk and fines.
