The British Government is looking for a driver to work at the British High Commission in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The driver will be responsible for driving staff and other authorized passengers to different destinations in a safe and polite manner, following traffic rules and safety regulations. 

The driver should have a minimum of 3 years' experience and a clean driving license, be able to communicate well in English and have strong customer service skills. They should also have good knowledge of the roads in Dar es Salaam and nearby areas. The job is full-time and permanent, with 35.5 hours of work per week, starting on April 1st, 2023. The salary is TZS 1,031,784.85 per month. 

The driver will need to complete some mandatory training courses and must be legally able to work and live in Tanzania. The job is not suitable for part-time, fully remote, job-share or term-time only work arrangements. The deadline for application is February 24th, 2023

Roles and responsibilities:

• Carry out daily maintenance checks on BHC vehicles.  Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and maintained to a high standard.
• Drive authorised passengers to meetings and functions in and around Dar es Salaam and also up-country.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentially and discreteness in discussions and travels involving the nature of the role, passengers and destinations, etc.
• Ensure the safety and security of passengers and vehicle in your care.
• Support the wider work of the mission including on ensuring health and safety standards, staff wellbeing and team building.
